The creative arts class at Hands On! is a place for discovery and
creativity. Children make their mark through drawing, painting, collage,
printing, stamping, sculpting and other crafts. This spring- summer we
will explore the five senses, using sight, sound, touch, smell and even
taste as we make art. Let's submerge in the process of art making, get a
little messy and take pride in what we create.
3yrs-4yrs
In the instrument building class, we will construct simplified versions
of string, wind, and percussion instruments; we will explore different
materials and discover the sounds familiar household objects can make.
Each child will decorate their instruments and make them truly their
own. Other classroom projects will include visualizing an instrument’s
sound or the way in which it is played.
4yrs-5yrs
In the bookmaking class, children will create their first books. Using
their imagination children will tell stories through images. We will
develop characters and scenes using a variety of materials and
techniques including drawing, rubbing, tracing, painting, stenciling,
printmaking and collage. The bookmaking class will encourage children's
excitement about art making and leave them with a collection they can
cherish on their library shelf.
