THE CARNIVAL OF THE ANIMALS ART CLASS
This fall Hands On! Creative Arts will be exploring the musical suite The Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Saëns. Our specially formatted curriculum exposes children to techniques and self-expression. Each week we will learn about a new animal studying its figure and actions, depicting these shapes and ideas through various mediums. Students will combine visual observation, sounds and imagination to create images. The curriculum is a theme based planned progression, but allows for emergent ideas and learning. The exploration of art materials encourages problem solving and cooperation. In addition, children will learn language skills and develop socially through interacting with peers, as well as teachers and parents in a safe, friendly environment. A perfect way to learn about the animals of the world and ways of representation and experimentation, join us as we explore through art this favorite orchestral piece.
